Upgrading your old G-rated boiler to an A-rated one should reduce your household heating bill by about a quarter - a saving, on average, of around £235 a year so in five years you could save £1,175, add to that the £400 rebate and that make £1,575, about the the price of replacing the boiler - FREE boiler after five years.
Here's what to do:-
- Look up your old boiler - Government Boiler Efficiency Database
- get a quote from a Gas Safe (previously Corgi), OFTEC or HETAS registered installer
- Submit your application at Energy Saving Trust
- you will receive a voucher approximately ten days after application
- have the boiler fitted within 12 weeks of receiving voucher
- send final invoice and voucher back to Energy Saving Trust
- payment will be issued within 25 working days of receipt of the voucher and invoice
